Abby’s Paradise Theatre hosted Sesame Place’s 21st team member lip-sync contest on Tuesday, August 9. Not even the threat of rain could keep adoring fans from cheering on their favorite acts. Our Sesame performers presented performances from Glee, Elton John and Kiki Dee, Flashback to the 90’s, and Aladdin. The competition was fierce (and so were the costumes), but, in the end, there could only be one first-place winner!
The Photo team let us know what we missed this season on Glee, including a “top 40” performance by substitute teacher Holly Holliday, pictured below.
A Culinary team member got the crowd on its feet while performing to a mix of Elton John songs. Jaws dropped when surprise guest Kiki Dee (an Entertainment team member) got on stage to perform a sibling duet of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”
The Operations team brought us back to the 90’s by performing the music of their childhood. Performances of New Kids on the Block, N’Sync and the Spice Girls reminded the crowd of when Will Smith was still the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
The retail team transformed the stage into an Arabian Night by telling the love story of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine. The magical tale pulled on our heartstrings, won the crowd, and become this season’s lip-sync contest first-place winner!
